Alfredo Espino (1900-1928) was a Salvadoran poet considered a master of Modernist poetry. He had a short life, dying at the age of 28 from tuberculosis, but his work has had a lasting impact on Salvadoran and Latin American literature. Espino's poetry is characterized by its simple yet evocative language and use of nature imagery. He was also known for his love of his homeland, El Salvador, and his poems often celebrated its people, landscapes, and history. Some of his most famous works include "Jícaras Tristes" and "Sensación Nueva". Despite his early death, Espino's legacy continues to inspire Salvadoran writers and poets.
